My name is Nicky Robertson and I am a registered sole trader operating as Angel Editorial Services.

This policy describes how I protect and use the information you give me when you contact me by email. If I ask you to provide information, I will use it only in the ways stated in this policy.

I collect, store and use your personal data only to:

Respond to requests for information about my services
Provide an editing, proofreading or copywriting service, as requested
Comply with legal requirements.

I currently collect and process the following information:

Your name
Your status, e.g. role within a company, organisation or academic institution
Your email address
Your business address or academic affiliation
Your postal address

How I get the personal information and why I have it.

Most of the personal information I process is provided to me directly by you for one of the following reasons:

To contact you in response to your query or booking
To contact you about your ongoing project
For my internal accounting processes (e.g. sending out invoices), and so that I can comply with the requirements of my tax authority (His Majesty’s Revenue & Customs – HMRC)

I use the information that you have given me in order to:

Respond to requests for information about my services
Provide an editing, proofreading or copywriting service, as requested
Comply with legal requirements.

I will never use this data for marketing or promotion purposes without gaining your permission in writing first (e.g. to publish a testimonial you have written).

Cookies and how I use them.

A cookie is a small file placed on your computer’s hard drive. It enables my website to identify your computer as you view different pages on my website.

The only way in which I use cookies is for web analytics, specifically:

Cookies do not give me access to your computer or any information about you other than that which you choose to share with me.

How I store your personal information

Your information is securely stored on a secure, password- and firewall-protected hard drive.

The minimal information I collect is also stored on the following:

IONOS. This is my website host. It is password-protected and has SSL-certification (https) to provide an additional layer of security. You can access IONOS′s privacy policy here.
Microsoft OneDrive. This is my cloud-based file-management system accessed via my password-protected computer. You can access Microsoft′s privacy policy here.
Microsoft Office. This is a service to which I subscribe to use Microsoft products, including word processing and spreadsheets. You can access Microsoft′s privacy policy here.
Google: GMail. This is a cloud-based system accessed via my password-protected computer or my PIN-protected mobile phone. You can access Google’s privacy policy here.

How long I will keep your data for:

Because I work with many of my clients more than once, I do not delete your data unless you ask me to.

HMRC requires me to keep records for ′at least 5 years after the 31 January submission deadline of the relevant tax year′. Further information is available here.

Please ask if you want me to delete or amend your records. As long as I′m keeping to the law, I will do this straight away.
